An adjuster has his nonresident public adjuster license revoked and he and his company were permanently banned from applying for Iowa public adjuster licenses for withholding over $1 million in claim proceeds, endorsing checks on behalf of insureds and banks without authorization, failure to release client funds, failure to communicate or respond to insured inquiries, and taking a larger fee then they were entitled to. The man and the company have been ordered to pay restitution of $1,028,177.10, pay a civil penalty of $235,000, pay $68,123.75 in investigation and prosecution costs, and are prohibited from handling claims in Iowa.
