The California Department of Insurance published a bulletin announcing a mandatory moratorium on residential insurance policies for one year for those affected by the Airport, Bridge, and Line Fires. This action protects around 750,000 policyholders.

Policyholders living within the perimeter of the fires or nearby ZIP codes are protected from non-renewal or cancellation of their policy for one year from the date of the Governor's emergency declaration. California has done this many times in the past following wildfires, as provided for under California Insurance Code section 675.1, subdivision (b)(1).

Two separate state of emergencies were declared on the three fires on different dates. The moratorium lasts one year after the applicable declaration.
