The South Dakota Division of Insurance published a notice to all interested parties that there will be a public hearing on the adoption of new administrative rules. The hearing will be held on September 30, 2024, at 9:00 A.M. CDT at 124 South Euclid Avenue, 1st Floor, Pierre, South Dakota, in the South Dakota Division of Insurance Oahe conference room.

The hearing will give the public a chance to voice their opinion on the proposed changes. The changes include an update to the Life Insurance Buyer's Guide and a clarification of producer continuing education requirements for long-term care plans. 

The public may present data, opinions, and arguments for or against the proposed changes either at the hearing or through mail or e-mail. The deadline for written comments is October 10, 2024. After hearing all the feedback, the Division may modify or amend a proposed rule as they see fit.
