The Texas Department of Insurance has announced proposed amendments to the statutes. The first concerns increasing the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority pass-through fee. The fee helps in the detection and prevention of the theft of catalytic converters. A copy of the proposal may be found here.
Another proposal addresses when a premium refund is due to a policyholder who cancels a TWIA policy. A copy of that proposal may be found here.
Comments for both of these proposals are being accepted until 5:00 p.m. central time on September 16, 2024. Comments may be sent to [email protected] or to the Office of the Chief Clerk, MC: GC-CCO, Texas Department of Insurance, P.O. Box 12030, Austin, Texas 78711-2030.
