On Aug 4, 2024 the governor of South Carolina declared a state of emergency in light of the expected rainfall and flooding from the advance of Tropical Storm Debby. Record amounts of rainfall are predicted for the area, which may cause flash flooding and other hazardous conditions.

In response, the South Carolina Department of Insurance has issued a bulletin in accordance with S.C. Code Ann. Reg. 69-1 stating that licensure of temporary non-resident adjusters may be necessary. This determination is effective immediately and will continue for 120 from this date unless otherwise extended. Those interested in becoming temporary adjusters may find information here.
