The Oklahoma Insurance Department published a special notice regarding the issuance of emergency adjuster licenses following a number of severe storms in the state. The storms have been happening from April 25 through May 6, 2024, and have caused catastrophic damage in the state.

Insurance Commissioner Glen Mulready declared an emergency, which gives him the power to issue emergency adjuster licenses to any resident or nonresident applicant. An emergency adjuster can only adjust claims related to the catastrophe and the license is valid for only 90 days from the issuance of the declaration. The emergency adjusters will be helpful in satisfying the needs of policyholders and getting claims settled in a timely manner. Applicants must be sponsored by an Oklahoma-licensed resident adjuster to receive the emergency adjuster license.

Applicants are required to submit an application online on the Oklahoma Insurance Department website.
