I have come across a business income policy that provides coverage for damage "caused by or resulting from…" I was wondering if you are aware of any writings on the difference between "caused by" and "resulting from?". I would like to see something clarifying the difference, if any.
California Subscriber
We have a complete analysis of the Business Income and Extra Expense Coverage form where the caused by and resulting from language is discussed. Basically, caused by would require that the loss or damage be a direct cause of a covered cause of loss, while resulting from would require that the loss or damage be a direct result of the covered cause of loss.
