Theft by Conversion – Georgia

A Georgia public adjuster had his license revoked by the insurance commissioner's office when he failed to show up for a hearing to dispute the revocation. Warrants had been taken out at two separate locations, one in Dougherty county and one in Cobb county. Both warrants were for felony theft by conversion. He had been hired as a public adjuster in two incidents to represent the consumers and in Cobb county he is accused of taking over $20,000 from the consumer and contractor, and in Dougherty county he is accused of taking over $6,200 from the consumer. The adjuster has been arrested for over $550,000 worth of stolen funds from residents. The charge is punishable by one to ten years in jail.
