Delaware authorities have developed a Coronavirus Anti-Fraud Coalition, to better protect the citizens of Delaware from criminal and civil fraud arising from the pandemic. The coalition includes local, state and federal agencies, investigators and prosecutors with expertise in handling complaints and cases related to consumer, financial, healthcare fraud and cybercrime. Several Delaware agencies will participate, including the Department of Insurance. The coalition will take information, tips and complaints from the public as well as from other law-enforcement agencies looking for assistance from the group. Many scammers are trying to take advantage of consumers with the COVID-19 situation. Scams include diagnostic testing scams, treatment scams, charity scams, workers compensation scams, cyber scams, scams targeted towards seniors and many others.
