A Montana man is facing one felony count of criminal insurance fraud related to an auto accident in 2019. The man was involved in a two car accident where he pulled in front of a vehicles causing an accident. He fled the scene but his bumper and license plate were left behind. The other party called in the accident at 5:47 p.m. The police found the at fault driver who said he had insurance. When the officer talked to the insurance company, the company advised that the policy was activated at 6:04 p.m. on the day of the accident, but after the accident occurred. He hadn't listed the accident on the application. He faces ten years in prison and a maximum fine of $50,000.
