Homeowners Fraud – Ohio
$60,000
An Ohio contractor is being investigated after scamming a number of victims of the May tornadoes in Dayton Ohio. One woman paid the contractor in increments but after four months and $10,000 the contractor disappeared with none of the work completed. A number of neighbors had the same experience. The county prosecutor has a list of ten victims with contracts totaling $100,000, and that the contractor had already collected $61,000. The investigation is ongoing and ten counts of theft will be presented to the grand jury.
