The Travelers Companies, Inc., has introduced a new life sciences practice offering insurance and risk management solutions across the fields of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and digital health, including health care IT, telemedicine, and medical software.

In a statement, Travelers explained that it now provides life sciences organizations with access to multiple lines of coverage, including errors and omissions, cybersecurity, and industry-specific products liability, including clinical trials.

“Technological and scientific innovations are transforming the way we approach human health and are creating a new set of risks in life sciences,” said Michael Thoma, global technology chief underwriting officer at Travelers. “Providing tailored solutions specific to this industry will help our customers guard against the vulnerabilities they may face throughout the product development lifecycle, from research and clinical trials to production and distribution.”

Travelers said that it offers:

  • Specialized risk control professionals who help customers evaluate and mitigate risks specific to their businesses.
  • Access to Travelers' industrial hygiene lab and experienced hygienists who can help customers assess their employee exposures.
  • A comprehensive library of safety resources, available online and via a mobile app.
  • Claim handlers and attorneys who can help resolve the complex legal and regulatory issues that may arise.
