Agent Fraud — Colorado

Amount: Potentially More Than $1 Million

A life insurance agent from Larimer County, Colorado has admitted to having stolen and used his fellow church-goers' information to take out life insurance policies. He recently pleaded guilty to one count of theft between $100,000 and $1 million, one count of identity theft, one count of insurance fraud, and one count of forgery. He made a deal with the Attorney General's Office to plead guilty to those four charges in exchange for the dismissal of 72 other charges. During his time as a fraudster he created more than 80 fraudulent life insurance policies.
