Three members of an East Bay California business family have been accused of workers' compensation fraud, bribing employees, and insurance fraud all while their two companies were contracting with the United States Armed Forces. The family is accused of instructing employees not to report injuries, sometimes giving them bribes as incentives not to report, in order to avoid paying workers' compensation fees. The family is also accused of providing false information to their insurance companies. These fraudulent activities all allegedly occurred while the both of the construction companies were involved in contracts with the Department of Defense. Two of the three accused have posted bail and are now out of custody while the third has yet to be arrested. All in all, the District Attorney's office filed 14 felony charges against the family.
