Loss scenario 1: A policy declarations has 3 buildings listed on one address. The declarations displays the 3 individual building values and under each building value is listed a deductible amount. A fire starts in the first building, causing damage, but also causes damage to the second building. Will one deductible apply or will a separate deductible apply to each building?

Loss scenario 2: A policy declarations has 2 locations with one building at each location. The declarations displays the 2 addresses, along with the applicable building value and deductible at each location. A covered cause of loss causes damage to both locations at the same time.

The BOP Declarations BP DS 01 07 13 states that the deductibles apply per location and per occurrence.

Therefore, in loss scenario 1, if both buildings are at the same location and the same fire was the cause of loss for both buildings, then only one deductible will apply.

In loss scenario 2, since the buildings are at separate locations, two deductibles will apply, one at each location.
