Workers' Compensation — Pennsylvania

Amount: $64,000

A former corrections guard has been charged with workers' compensation fraud. The Pike County District Attorneys office says that the ex-corrections officer was employed in a different position and filed false income statements while he was receiving workers' compensation benefits. Under the Workers' Compensation Fraud Act, both of these crimes are categorized as felonies. In order to secure a job at a company called Econo-Pak, the man used an alias. He received $64,000 in benefits on his workers' compensation claim, and was concurrently making a paycheck while working at Econo-Pak.
