Other Structures Coverage

May 7, 2018

Our insured has a CP-10 Commercial Package.  They have an unscheduled structure that the agent believed to be covered under the BPP section of coverage.  This structure is a 24×60 Farmtech Building, metal frame with canvas cover.  There are steel plates drilled into the cement that are then anchored to posts which are holding this unit in place.  It does stay up all year.  Damage is from collapse of weight of ice and snow.  Is this structure considered BPP, or does the fact that it is anchored into the cement make it an appurtenant structure?   What is the purpose of the CG2150 endorsement and when should if be used? It seems to be more restrictive then liquor liability coverage exclusion language of the GL form.

Under the CP 00 10 10 12, building means a building or structure described in the Declarations… Therefore, the structure would need to be described (shown) in the Declarations with a limit to be covered. However, if the structure meets the coverage requirements stated for Newly Acquired or Constructed Property (1) Buildings, there could be coverage up to $250,000, as long as the loss occurred within the first 30 days of the insured acquiring the structure.
