Ironshore Inc. has added Oil Casualty Insurance, Ltd. (“OCIL”) as a subscribing insurer to Iron-Starr Excess Agency Ltd. for financial lines business.

Iron-Starr currently underwrites on behalf of Ironshore Insurance Ltd. (“IIL”), Starr Insurance & Reinsurance Ltd., Hamilton Re Ltd., and Antares Syndicate 1274. With the addition of OCIL, Iron-Starr will be able to offer increased capacity for directors and officers liability, cyber liability, and transactional liability for financial lines clients.

“Ironshore is pleased to announce that OCIL has joined Iron-Starr. We continue to see a wealth of opportunity in these lines of business and, most importantly, a growing need for large blocks of capacity” said Kevin H. Kelley, the chief executive officer of Ironshore.

Mitch Blaser, the CEO of Iron-Starr, noted, “This partnership further enhances our ability to deliver greater capacity in products where we see growing demand as a key benefit of our structure. Offering this capacity through a single access point, with concurrency of terms and access to several balance sheets, is a key differentiator and an attractive proposition to our clients. We are excited to welcome OCIL to the agency and we continue to seek likeminded partners for lines of business that have the demand and opportunity.”

Jerry Rivers, the chief operating officer of OCIL, commented, “OCIL is pleased to expand its relationship with the Ironshore Group while implementing our strategy to diversify our risk profile by expanding into other industry segments. It is important that our growth is accretive to our bottom line, which requires partnering with individuals and firms that have the expertise and production platforms that OCIL can rely upon. We have found that partnership in Iron-Starr for specialty lines of business such as transactional liability, cyber liability, and directors and officers liability.”
