Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (“BHSI”) has appointed Chaman Aggarwal as vice president and property underwriting officer.
“Chaman brings more than 35 years of property underwriting and engineering experience to BHSI,” said Dean LaPierre, the senior vice president and global property underwriting officer at BHSI. “Chaman joins Cathy Miller, vice president and property underwriting officer, and I in supporting our rapidly expanding property portfolio worldwide.”
Mr. Aggarwal came to BHSI from XL Catlin Canada, where he held leadership positions in the property group. Before that, Mr. Aggarwal was senior vice president and national energy construction practice leader at Marsh in Houston, and vice president of property construction at Liberty International Underwriters. Earlier in his career, he held various positions in underwriting and engineering at insurers and reinsurers in the U.S., Bermuda, and Canada.
Mr. Aggarwal holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Alberta (Canada).
He will be based in BHSI's Toronto office.
