 While insurance fraud has been broadly defined in the introduction section, this section presents state specific definitions as written in statutes. Not all states have defined fraud in their statutes; therefore those states are not listed. Some definitions are very short while others are lengthy and detailed; many states use similar, but slightly different definitions, so it is important to be sure you look at the proper state's definition of fraud.
