Mr. Maxson focuses his practice on insurance-linked securities, mergers and acquisitions, private placements, general corporate matters, insurance regulatory issues, and life settlements.

“Jim is one of the country's most respected insurance regulatory and life settlement lawyers and we are very excited that he chose to bring his practice to Culhane Meadows,” said Heather Haughian, managing partner of the firm's Atlanta office. “His experience already makes him the go-to lawyer in his field and his practical approach to solving legal and business challenges is a perfect fit for our firm.”

He also worked as in-house counsel for Delta Air Lines' international group and clerked for the Honorable Alice M. Batchelder on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Mr. Maxson currently serves on the board of directors of the Life Insurance Settlement Association (“LISA”) and on the executive committee of the European Life Settlement Association (“ELSA”).
