Alabama

Suspension of license until payment of $200 for the first violation. Subsequent violations require a minimum 4 month suspension and payment of $400.

Suspension of license for 90 days for first offense. Suspension for 1 year for any subsequent violations within 10 years.

First offense $500 fine, suspension of license and registration for 3 months. Second offense in 36 months $750 fine and a six month suspension. Third offense in 36 months $1000 fine, 1 year suspension.

Suspension of registration if offender cannot demonstrate coverage by the disposition of the charge. Reinstating registration entails an additional $20 fee.

Louisiana

Suspension of license and registration. First offense reinstatement fee $25; second offense $100; any other subsequent offenses within 5 years $200. Criminal sanctions may also be imposed. For a first conviction, fine is no more than $500. Effective February 1, 2015, fine is %500-$1000. If involved in an accident, a 60 day mandatory suspension of license and registration. As of February 1, 2015, a 180 day mandatory suspension of license and registration is required.
