States' Acceptance of Electronic Signatures

Most states have adopted a form of the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act, and the following chart provides statutory references that govern states' acceptance of electronic signatures. States do not require that transactions be conducted electronically but allow such transactions between consenting parties. Certain documents may still be required in writing.
