Borrowed Boat
February 12, 2013
Our insured has a MA Homeowner's HO3 policy. Our insured had borrowed his friend's boat. He went to park the boat in his driveway. He unhitched the boat and got back into his vehicle. The boat rolled back and hit a tree on his property. There is damage to the boat and minor damage to the trailer. Would there be coverage for the trailer and/or the boat that the insured borrowed under the insured's homeowner's policy?
Massachusetts Subscriber
Personal property owned by others and on the property where the insured resides is covered under personal property, as is property used by an insured. This is where the boat should be covered.
