Manulife Life Insurance Company, Japan, has appointed Gavin Robinson to the position of president and chief executive officer.

Mr. Robinson joined Manulife Financial in 1999. He held positions in the corporate actuarial and wealth management divisions before moving to the position of vice president and chief financial officer, affinity markets. Prior to his move to Japan, Mr. Robinson was senior vice president and general manager, affinity markets, providing strategic direction for the growth of the business unit.

Hitoshi Morita, who has served as CEO during the leadership transition period, will continue his duties as representative executive officer, responsible for strategic planning, business development, communications, and human resources.
