Tenant's Auto Damages Covered Under Apartment Building Owner's CGL Policy?
Insured owns an apartment building. Large icicles have formed on the eaves and one falls onto a tenant's vehicle causing damages. Is the insured liable for damages to the tenant's auto and/or loss of use, under the CGL policy?

The question of whether the insured is liable for the damages to the auto is a legal question we cannot answer. However, if the insured is somehow held liable for the PD, the CGL policy should cover the damage. Although there are particular circumstances of the loss that could impact the coverage, based on the information you provided we do not see any reason the loss would not be covered. There was property damage caused by an occurrence, and there are no applicable exclusions.
