Is an extended warranty on electronics, computers, appliances, etc. covered on a homeowners replacement cost claim?
Kentucky Subscriber
Replacement cost is basically replacing new for old. In order to properly indemnify the insured, the replacement property must have a warranty as well. Now, it's possible to prorate the warranty – say the insured was one year into a two-year warranty, then a one-year warranty is all that is truly needed to restore the insured to what he had.
