Building or Personal Property?
Is a refrigerator in an owner occupied dwelling considered part of the dwelling or part of the contents on a DP-1 policy?
North Carolina Subscriber
A refrigerator, like a stove and a furnace, are things that are needed in order to make a dwelling livable. Other appliances, such as microwaves and hair dryers, are optional. The microwave is an exception if it is built in under the cupboard; if it sits on the counter, it's coverage C, not A. The stove, refrigerator, and furnace are all coverage A.
