Dec Page
The Dec Page for September offers an overview of insurance coverage needs for students studying abroad. Despite the downturn in the economy, many students are packing their bags and heading off for a year's study overseas. Thoughts about insurance coverage are not uppermost in the minds of the students, and probably not in the minds of the parents either. However, there are exposures for possible property losses, liability claims, and health issues that students will face, and facing these issues in a foreign country requires some advance knowledge and planning. The Dec Page article discusses various insurance coverages for students and parents to consider, and also provides Web sites where students and parents can access information and, if desired, purchase insurance coverage.
This article is written by Diane Richardson, a former editor with the FC&S Bulletins. The Dec Page welcomes articles from outside authors.
