Products/Completed Operations Excluded by Endorsement?

My question is in regard to the exclusion for designated work endorsement, CG 21 34 01 87.

The endorsement states that it modifies coverage under the commercial general liability coverage part and the products/completed operations coverage part. However, the modification language reads as follows: this insurance does not apply to bodily injury or property damage included in the products-completed operations hazard and arising out of your work shown in the schedule. This seems to me to contradict the earlier assertion that commercial general liability coverage is also modified since only products-completed operations is addressed in the modification language.

My question is whether or not the description of work that we write in the schedule is excluded for both general liability and products/completed operations coverages, or is the exclusion only for products/completed operations?

Endorsement CG 21 34 applies to both the CGL form and the products/completed operations liability form. The reason that both forms are noted at the top of the endorsement is that the two forms are separate coverage forms CG 00 01 12 04 and CG 00 37 12 04, respectively), and the wording is meant to show that the endorsement can be used with both coverage forms to modify both forms.

The reason that only the products/completed operations hazard phrase is mentioned in the body of the endorsement is that that is the subject matter that is being excluded. Both the CGL form and the products/completed operations form have products/completed operations coverage on them under the title of products-completed operations hazard. So, since the purpose of the endorsement is to exclude designated completed operations, that is the only subject named. The insured still has general liability coverage; only coverage for the bodily injury and property damage arising out of the particularly described work (the completed operations) is excluded.
