Awning on Camper Damaged by Windstorm

Our insured has a camper/trailer covered under a business auto policy. This camper/trailer has an awning attached that is used when the insured goes to a campground. The awning was damaged recently in a windstorm. The policy uses symbol 7 (specifically described autos) for collision and comprehensive physical damage coverage.

Would the awning damage be covered under the BAP? Are there any exclusions that may apply?

Michigan Insurer

As long as the camper/trailer is a covered auto, it and its equipment are covered for a comprehensive loss; this includes a windstorm loss. Whether the awning is considered equipment or actually part of the vehicle, the coverage is still there for this loss. There are no exclusions on the standard business auto policy that would prevent coverage for this loss.
