Damage to Property due to Service of Search Warrant

Does the Dwelling Property 3 cover damage to the dwelling by police serving a search warrant on the tenant?

The DP3 policy is an all risks peril policy that covers direct damage to the property with certain risks excluded. The actions of the police certainly aren't vandalism, nor are the intentions to cause a loss; the intent is to find incriminating evidence against the insured. Therefore, damage to the dwelling caused in the course of the search is covered. Any property confiscated as evidence is not covered.
