NU Agency of the Year Awards: A sign of the times
Winners this year will be leading independent agencies in the U.S. that demonstrate innovation, compassion and smarts. Apply by June 18, 2021.
Each year, NU’s Agency of the Year Awards program reflects the common themes, pressures and successes unfolding each day within independent insurance agencies nationwide.
As social and business mores shift, so too does the look and feel of each year’s Agency of the Year Award winners.
In 2020, the three winners — JAG Insurance Group, C3 Risk & Insurance Services and Insurance Express — each talked about how they maintained continuity and supported their staff through the height of COVID-19 shutdowns. Pivotal to those stories were themes around business innovation, community connections and a commitment to top-shelf client service.
In 2019, the three Agency of the Year Awards winners shared some of their success secrets. Owners of Gordon Companies in New York City talked about infusing their 53-year-old family business with a sense of historic purpose. AHT Insurance described how it puts employees and customers at the center of its company culture, and Desert Insurance Solutions illustrated the importance of having a sense of place when an independent insurance agency puts down roots.
It was a different world three years ago when the 2018 winner of the NU Agency of the Year Award winners — Condon-Meek, Morris & Garritano and Insurance Office of America — highlighted how they were leveraging technology and rising to client expectations as part of their award winner profiles.
Articles about the winners publish online at PropertyCasualty360.com as well as in NU Property & Casualty magazine.
The 2021 NU Agency of the Year Awards program is sponsored by Nationwide.
Setting the pace
The theme of this year’s program is “Setting the Pace” because the P&C insurance industry on the downside of the COVID-19 pandemic finds itself at a crossroads: Society has shifted. Customers are digital and services must be, too. But not at the expense of customer experience and satisfaction. This year’s winners will undoubtedly illustrate how to modernize while staying true to their core business, culture and values.
