Last Tuesday, Apple CEO Tim Cook introduced the world to the long-awaited Apple Watch, marking the one-time computer company’s move into wearable technologies. It’s a sleek device — essentially an iPhone that the user can wear on their wrist — that incorporates many of the same app-powered functions that have made Apple products a daily habit for millions (if not billions) of customers around the world.

It’s pretty, but will it really shake the world like the original Mac and iPhone did? Maybe, maybe not. But in today’s marketplace, there is something to be said for design that communicates well and translates seamlessly across a range of technologies. What’s more, well-designed products make our lives easier, more efficient and more fun.
