The Pennsylvania Assn. of Mutual Insurance Cos. announced Ron Gallagher as its next president. Mr. Gallagher will assume the role on March 10, 2014, overlapping three months with current president Steve Elliot, who will retire after serving for 15 years.
The Property Casualty Insurers Assn. of America announced three new hires. Tom Glassic joined the association as vice president, policy and government relations. Nicole Austin will assume the role of assistant vice presidentm federal government relations, and Ann Gray was promoted to director, federal government relations.
Willis North America appointed Renee Folkerts as surety manager at Willis of Oklahoma.
IFG Cos. hired Debra Taylor as vice president, product management. In this role, Taylor is responsible for working with the product management team and other business leaders to introduce new products to the market.
United Educators hired Wendell Smith as associate vice president of marketing and special projects.
New Programs
Philadelphia Insurance Cos. released its new Franchised Motorcycle Dealership product. Under the package policy, franchised motorcycle dealerships will find coverage enhancements that appeal to their unique coverage needs.
Mergers & Acquisitions
AssuredPartners acquired AirSure Limited, an agency that specializes in insurance coverage, employee benefits and risk management services for businesses in the aviation industry. Under the agreement, 35 employees will joined AssuredPartners, continuing to work out of the Golden, Colo. and Plano, Texas locations.
Cross Insurance acquired The Driscoll Agency of Norwell, Mass., which marks the company's third acquisition for 2014.
