Frost Insurance annuonced its acquisition of Kolkhorst Insurance Agency, an independent insurance agency that offers a full range of personal lines, property and casualty and surety products. Kolkhorst Insurance Agency islocated in Houston, Texas.
AssuredPartners Inc. aquired Eastern Insurance Acquisition Agency LLC through its New Jersey subsidary. Eastern Insurance Group specializes in commercial and personal insurance as well as life, health and employee benefit programs for individuals and businesses.

The Target Markets Program Administrators Assn. awarded New Empire Group the Best Practice Designation at their 13th Annual Summit in Scottzdale, Ariz. ARA Insurance, Glatfelter Insurance Group, Synergy Professional Assocs., ORYX Insurance Brokerage and Venture Insurance Programs were also recognized for having recertified their Best Practice status.
Technology
Applied Systems recognized Liberty Mutual Insurance for outstanding achievement in agency-carrier interface. Liberty Mutual was the recipient of the 2013 Interface Leadership award and the Real-Time Adoption Award for the addition of a first-in-industry Real-Time Account View transaction, eliminating multiple policy, billing and claim inquiries.
