An insurance agent in Mebane, N.C., was sentenced to 9 years in federal prison earlier this month for his part in crop insurance fraud. Larry Rogers, the agent, and his client Richard Enoch, a tobacco farmer, pled guilty to making false statements to the Federal Crop Insurance Corp. Rogers also pleaded to mail and wire fraud and obstructing justice. Enoch received a lighter sentence: one day in prison, six months of house arrest and three years of supervised release.Recommended Stories
