Aon Risk Solutions hired Kathy Jacobson as senior vice president for the Washington, D.C., office. She will work with the errors and omissions department while managing new business opportunities in the financial services sector. Prior, she was senior vice president at Seabury & Smith, a division of Marsh.

NetVU elected Mark E. Stolly—current president of Stolly Insurance Group—to serve as the 2012-2013 chairman of the board. He will replace Gray Nester—outgoing chairman, and senior vice president at BB&T Insurance Services. NetVU also elected four more to the board of directors: Tod Ashby, senior vice president at Van Gilder Insurance Corp.; James Clendenin, controller at Pillar Group in Indianapolis; Barb Dale, P&C operations manager at SilverStone Group in Omaha, Neb.; and Keith Savino, partner and COO at Warwick Resource Group in Warwick, N.Y.

Grange Insurance named Peter McMurtrie chief sales and marketing officer. He will manage a newly combined sales and marketing team focused on helping independent agents. Prior, McMurtrie oversaw Grange's personal and commercials lines claims operation. Ken Kozek will succeed Murtrie as vice president of claims.

Torus appointed both Dan Durett (email) and Scott Ducey (email) to vice president of health care. Durrett will oversee Torus' U.S. medical professional liability platform for hospital and program business. Ducey will oversee healthcare liability business in the western U.S. region.

The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers (IIABA) awarded Bob Fulwider—principal and president at Ray Wuestenberg Agency in West Liberty, Iowa—with the Woodworth Memorial Award, the highest association honor, at the Big I Legislative Conference and Convention. The award recognizes the contributions of an independent agent or broker to the national association, to his or her IIABA colleagues and to the insurance industry.

Mergers & Acquisitions

Lockton acquired the minority stake in its operations outside the U.S. held by Trident III, an investment fund managed by Stone Point Capital. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

New Programs

The Main Street America Group introduced Main Line Auto, its remodeled commercial auto product to independent insurance agents who represent super regional P&C insurance carriers in Arizona, Oklahoma and South Carolina. Main Line Auto offers bodily injury liability, property damage liability, personal injury protection, and uninsured motorist and underinsured motorist coverages, hired automobile coverage, non-owned automobile coverage, comprehensive damage and collision damage. Chubb Group Insurance Cos. announced a new travel accident policy to California companies that promote eco-friendliness. This policy allows employers to provide insurance protection should an employee suffer a covered injury while traveling to work by carpool or van pool, mass transit or in an alternative-fuel private-passenger vehicle. All U.S. employees of California-based companies are eligible for coverage.

Applied Systems released DORIS 10, the latest version of its online agency management system designed to automate the business needs of small agencies. New features include enhanced marketing capabilities as well as regulatory and form updates from across the United States (read here for PC360's full article on DORIS 10).
