In 2022, workplace injuries that resulted in hospitalizations returned to pre-pandemic levels, while amputation cases hit a six-year low, according to ISN Software Corp.
However, the number of workplace fatalities increased from 23 in 2021 to 153 in 2022, ISN reported.
"Contact with object or equipment" was the most common cause of workplace deaths in 2022, accounting for 55% of fatalities. Trips, slips and falls accounted for 21% of workplace deaths, while overexertion and bodily reaction was responsible for 13% of job site fatalities.
