With the holidays fast approaching and plans to visit friends and family are being finalized, those looking to cover their trips have a slew of questions regarding the potential impact of COVID-19 and how travel insurance might respond.

Although travel plans abound, people are still holding reservations regarding the pandemic. Insuremytrip.com reported 86% of consumers are concerned with having to cancel a trip because of travel changes around COVID-19 requirements. Further, 61% said they are concerned they'll have to cancel a trip out of fear of contracting COVID-19.

This comes on the heel of news from AAA that more than 53 million people are expected to travel for the Thanksgiving holiday, an increase of 13% compared with 2020.
