Who were the respondents to the NU/PIA Independent Agent Survey? Here we break them down by the numbers.

Experience was definitely a factor among those who responded to the survey, with 91.7 percent saying they have been in the P&C insurance industry for more than 15 years. Only 23 percent responded that they have been in the industry for less than five years.

The majority of agents (33.8 percent) said they are between the ages of 50-59, and the smallest percentage (3.2 percent) said they are between the ages of 30-39. Not surprisingly, most respondents (62.7 percent) said they are agency owners/principals.
